Avon and Somerset Police are appealing for help to trace the rightful owners of some property which has been seized by officers in Bath and North East Somerset.
The items are thought to have been stolen from cars and other vehicles across the area since April 2016.
PC 1675 Roger Parker is trying to reunite the property with its rightful owner.
As well as a number of Garmin and TomTom satnavs and Apple iPods and iPads, officers have seized some more distinctive items, including a grey and black iPod with ‘David Webster’ embossed on the back.
Pictured are:
- A set of keys with a fob labelled ‘Studio 2’;
- A black wallet with a ‘Prada’ stamp;
- A brown, red and cream zipped purse with a ‘Radley London’ stamp and a blue Bath Cats and Dogs Home disc;
- A rifle sight with a worn logo, possibly of an owl, in white.
PC Parker said: “Obviously we’re trying to match the items against property recorded as stolen on our systems.
“However, because several thefts have happened without any damage being caused to the vehicles, we’re concerned that people may think a missing item has been lost, rather than stolen.
“I would ask anyone who recognises this property to get in touch with me through our www.avonandsomerset.police.uk/contact, or by calling 101 quoting reference 5216115114 or 5216121866.”
Police are asking everyone to do their bit to keep their property safe by clearing valuables from their cars and making sure they’re locked and the alarm set every time they leave the vehicle.
It’s a good idea set up tracking software on mobile devices like phones and tablets and record the serial numbers of property at www.immobilise.com. This can help officers identify the rightful owner of recovered items and discourages criminals because this can help to prove a theft.
