A 25-year-old Bath man has appeared before magistrates in connection with an assault nearly two years ago in which the victim suffered a bleed on the brain and a fractured eye socket.

Joseph Hallsworth, of Hawthorn Grove, Combe Down, is charged with unlawfully and maliciously causing grievous bodily harm with intent to Louis Boneham on 25th March 2024.

No plea was taken when Hallsworth appeared at Bath Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday 11th February.

The charge is indictable only. Magistrates adjourned the case until 9th March when Hallsworth will appear at Bristol Crown Court.

The Probation Service has been asked to prepare a pre-sentence report.
