A 45-year-old man who was arrested as part of the ongoing investigation into the murder of 25-year-old Melanie Hall, has been released on police bail, pending further enquiries.

The man was arrested on Thursday in connection with murder of Melanie in 1996.

Melanie’s parents continue to be supported by specialist family liaison officers.

Her parents have also offered £50,000 of their own money for information leading to the conviction of the person or people responsible for their daughter’s murder.

Melanie was last seen at 1.10am on Sunday 9th June 1996 sitting on a stool at the edge of the dancefloor in Cadillacs nightclub (now ClubXL) in Walcot Street, Bath, following a night out with friends.

This was the last confirmed sighting of Melanie alive. Her remains were found in vegetation next to the junction 14 northbound slipway of the M5 (Thornbury) by a workman on 5th October 2009.
