A man was taken to hospital after injuring himself at the Morrisons supermarket on the London Road this afternoon, Thursday 20th July.
The incident happened at around 1pm, and saw the store evacuated as staff gave first aid to the man.
He was taken to hospital via ambulance, having sustained serious injuries.
In a statement, Avon & Somerset Police said: “Emergency services attended a concern for welfare incident after shop staff reported a man had injured himself.
“The store was closed and shop staff gave first aid.
“The injured man went to hospital by ambulance with serious injuries.
“There’s no risk to the wider public but officers remain in the area making enquiries.”
