Serdar Bilgili was found guilty in his absence of the two charges after he failed to attend Bath Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday 4th February for the hearing.
Bilgili had been charged with travelling on the railway on 7th May 2025 without paying a fare of an unknown amount.
The court heard he had asked GWR staff to let him through, saying he had come to Bath to visit his son in hospital, and his behaviour after they refused was likely to have caused harassment, alarm or distress.
Bilgili had not indicated pleas and had failed to respond to the witness statements served on him.
The 35-year-old of Alexander Parade in Weston-super-Mare, was fined £440 for each offence. With prosecution costs of £85 and a court surcharge of £234, his total bill to the court is £1,199.
Magistrates were told that Bilgili had previous convictions for travelling without paying.
