Bath & North East Somerset Council is consulting on plans to improve road safety for pedestrians in Shophouse Road in Twerton.

The council says that people experience difficulties when crossing the road to reach local amenities and facilities.

There is funding in place to install a zebra crossing, speed tables and speed cushions.

The crossing is proposed 6.8 metres south of the junction with Highland Road.

The first of two speed tables will be about 38 metres south of the junction with Highland Road.  The second will be approximately 15.5 metres east of the junction with Priddy Close.

A pair of speed cushions are also proposed around 6.4 metres east of the junction with Innox Road.

The consultation is now open and anyone who wishes to comment on the proposals has until 23rd February. The reference is TRO 25-047.
