A 28-year-old man has been arrested after a woman in her 20s was stabbed in the Oldfield Park area of Bath on Monday afternoon, 26th February.
Police were called at around 4.20pm to Dransfield Way, near Coronation Avenue, following a report that a woman had been stabbed.
The woman was taken to hospital where she remains in a critical but stable condition.
Her family have been informed and are being supported by officers.
The Wiltshire Air Ambulance helicopter was seen in the vicinity of the incident.
Police have thanked members of the public who came to the woman’s aid at the time.
A 28-year-old man was arrested at the scene in connection with the incident and remains in police custody.
Police are treating this as an isolated incident and there is no evidence of any wider risk to the public.
Members of the public can expect to see an increased police presence over the coming days and the neighbourhood team will be carrying out high-visibility reassurance patrols.
The public is encouraged to talk to officers if they have any concerns.
A spokesperson for the South Western Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust (SWASFT) said: “We were called at 16:24hrs on Monday 26 February to an incident in Bath.
“We sent two double-crewed land ambulances, an air ambulance, an operations officer, a rapid response vehicle, a critical care car and a hazardous area response team and we conveyed one patient by land ambulance to Southmead Hospital.”
A car also overturned on Englishcombe Lane yesterday afternoon. The ambulance service says it took one patient to the Royal United Hospital by land ambulance.
