Officers were called to reports of a body in the river at around 9.40am on Friday morning, 27th March.

The body of a man was spotted near Midland Road, which was then removed by the fire service.

The family of a man, who was reported to have jumped into the river on 8th March and has not been seen since, was notified of the discovery.

The matter has been referred to the coroner as a sudden death not suspicious.

A significant search was undertaken to try and find the man when he entered the water, which included the use of the police helicopter and a specialist dive team.
