The death of a man whose body was found near Saltford on Monday is not being treated as suspicious, Avon and Somerset Police have announced this morning.
A formal identification procedure has not yet been carried out but police believe they’ve identified the man as a 41-year-old man from the Hertfordshire area.
Chief Superintendent Caroline Peters, the North East Area Commander, said: “Following a thorough investigation we believe we have now identified the man as a missing person from the Hertfordshire area.
“Based on the evidence we now have we are not treating his death as suspicious and we do not believe that any criminality has occurred.
“I’d like to thank all the members of the public who responded to our appeals for information.
“We are now preparing a file which will be handed over to the coroner’s office in due course.”
