Appeal for witnesses launched after motorcyclist killed in collision near Bath

Avon and Somerset Police have launched an appeal for witnesses following a fatal road traffic collision in Tormarton, near junction 18 of the M4, north of Bath.

The incident happened at 4.09pm on Monday 24th September, at the crossroads at Shire Hill.

A motorcycle travelling between Tormarton and Marshfield was involved in a collision with a car.

The motorcyclist, a man in his 60s, received treatment at the scene but sadly died shortly afterwards.

South Western Ambulance Service sent various resources to the incident, including two ambulances, an air ambulance, a hazardous area response team, and an operations officer.

The road was closed for a detailed examination by collision investigators.

Officers are keen to hear from anyone who was in the area at the time of the incident who may have information to help their enquiries.

Anyone able to help is asked to contact the collision investigation unit on 101, quoting reference 5218214487.
