The Bath, Keynsham & Somer Valley Foodbank is urging people to be aware after reports of a bogus collector knocking on doors asking for money.

Based at The Gateway Centre in Snow Hill, the foodbank is part of the Trussell Trust’s national network and locally supported under the Genesis Trust.

Writing on social media, the team said: “We have been made aware today (Tuesday 30th September) that someone is going door-to-door in the Bath area collecting money for Trussell/Foodbank.

“Please be aware that neither Trussell or the Foodbank have sanctioned this and never collect financial donations in this way, nor authorise anyone to do so on our behalf.

“We would like you to be aware should someone come to your home requesting donations.”
