The rugby club has issued a rallying cry for the city’s historic landmarks and local businesses to show their support ahead of the club’s upcoming European adventure.

With less than a week to go until Bath Rugby welcomes Irish opponents Ulster to The Rec in Round One of the Champions Cup, on Saturday 9th December, the club is encouraging other iconic landmarks and businesses to join the initiative.

David Ayres, Marketing Director at Bath Rugby, said: “It’s an exciting time to be a Bath Rugby fan, but this club is nothing without the city behind us.

“Paint the Town Red is a chance for landmarks, businesses, and supporters to come together and celebrate this season’s European adventure whilst showing the players they have our backing when they cross the white line in round one against Ulster.

“As well as lighting up one of the city’s best-known landmarks, we also hope to work with our partners to create a series of Paint the Town Red offers and discounts that will create a sense of occasion culminating with what we hope will be a trip to London for the Blue, Black and White army next May for the Final.”

The Paint the Town Red initiative will also see Bath Rugby partners and sponsors offer special discounts throughout the Champions Cup campaign for all Bath Rugby Investec Champions Cup ticket holders.

Special offers include:

  • Loake Shoemakers – 15% off
  • Ludo Sports Bar and Kitchen – 2-4-1 on all cocktails
  • Official Bath Rugby store – 20% off the Bath Rugby Euro Cup kit
  • Heavenly Desserts – 20% off
  • Tapas Revolution – 20% off, plus a free beer/wine on arrival for anyone that pre-books and quotes ‘Paint the Town Red’
  • Thatchers – Various giveaways of new apple and blackcurrant product throughout the day at The Rec
  • Vinalba – Sampling activation of their malbec red wine in The Rec stadium

On the day of the match, there will be an ‘Official After Party’ at Walcot House, and fans can be in with a chance to win A Rolex with Watches of Bath, supporting the Bath Rugby Foundation.

Kick-off for Bath Rugby’s Investec Champions Cup Round One fixture against Ulster is 3.15pm on Saturday 9th December. Tickets are on sale now.
