Engineers and surveyors at Bath and North East Somerset Council are checking underneath Bridge Street following reports of some depressions in the road.

Parts of the road will be coned off while the work is being carried out and there will be parking and loading restrictions during the work.

The works should be completed within a week with disruption kept to a minimum.

It is not anticipated that the road will be closed.

Councillor Mark Shelford, (Conservative, Lyncombe) cabinet member for Transport and Environment, said: “We are carrying out some maintenance work underneath Bridge Street and parts of the road will be coned off and are sorry for any in convenience but we hope to keep any traffic disruption to a minimum and thank people for their patience.”
