Bath’s newest park is set to be launched with a party and open-air cinema show later this month, with local residents being invited along to enjoy the public space.
Named by public demand, Elizabeth Park will create a brand new green space and destination hub between the Sovereign Point and Royal View buildings at Bath Riverside.
To launch the new open space, developers Crest Nicholson Regeneration will throw a Party in the Park including music, food, drink and an open-air cinema show in the evening on Friday 26th July.
Announcing the city’s latest public park, Crest Nicholson Sales Director Marcus Evans said: “This was the name favoured by both residents and members of the public alike.
“Bath is blessed with a great variety of public parks and open spaces named after Queens – such as Victoria, Alice and Alexandria – so it was logical to name the new leisure area Elizabeth Park.
“The new park will give Bath Riverside a wonderful breathing space beside the Avon and improve the scenic route for residents and the general public to and from the City Centre.
“The park is a key element of Bath Riverside, regenerating a previously derelict area of the city for new generations and creating a welcoming, open air environment for all.
“People seem to have taken the new park to their hearts – and we have received many positive comments from members of the public as the development takes shape.
“People have described the new Royal View and Sovereign Point buildings as liners going along the river – and praised its new, clean and modern look.
“We are confident Elizabeth Park will become the vibrant, beating heart of the development.”
