Residents, businesses and visitors to Bath are invited to a number of information events at the end of the month to view and comment on proposed transport improvements that would link the city centre to the south of Bath.
The events will be held at the Guildhall between 12pm and 6pm on Thursday 30th March, at Brunel Square (adjacent to Bath Spa Train Station and The Vaults) between 9am and 5pm on Friday 31st March and on Monday 3rd April between 3pm and 6.30pm, at St Andrews Community Church, Hawthorn Grove, Combe Down.
New transport improvements are required to help address key city challenges, including poor air quality, traffic congestion and the need to link people with jobs.
Attendees will be given the opportunity to review and comment on different transport solutions, presented by Curo.
Options include improvements to local bus services, a new cable car, and changes to the city’s infrastructure to encourage more walking and cycling.
Curo Chief Executive, Victor da Cunha, said: “During our public consultations at Mulberry Park, transport was often raised as an issue. We believe that housing cannot be looked at in isolation and that a holistic approach to local residents’ quality of life and the sustainability of the whole city is important.
“As a landlord and landowner in Bath, we have commissioned specialist planning and engineering firm Arup and a group of expert sub-consultants to identify and analyse potential transport solutions that could improve links between Mulberry Park/Foxhill and the centre of the city, providing a more efficient, reliable and affordable connection to jobs, education, leisure facilities and the central transport hubs.”
“We look forward to sharing these ideas at the exhibition and hearing people’s views.”
For those unable to attend the events, all of the information will be available via www.southbathtransportoptions.co.uk from 30th March where members of the public can also leave feedback.
