The Jesus Christ Assembly has played host to Wera Hobhouse, the MP for Bath, to celebrate the beginning of Christmas, and to highlight their community activities and hunt for a new home.

In comparison to some other congregations in the city, the Jesus Christ Assembly is a relative newcomer; founded in 2003.

They put a large emphasis on personal growth, encouraging their members to reach their full personal potential. They are currently based at Riverside Youth and Community Centre, but are looking for a new home.

Wera Hobhouse said: “It was honestly inspiring to be surrounded by such welcoming, positive and open people.

“If anyone is reading this and has an idea of a new home for the congregation, please do get in touch!”

The Church currently has a membership of 50-60 people, who run community outreach programmes.

Recently they have organised a women’s conference, youth conference, and have visited some of Bath’s care homes, singing to residents.

Queen Oduaro, a central figure in the congregation said: “We are keen to secure a permanent place of worship, as this will assist us in doing more for our community.”

Wera concluded: “I wish them luck in their search for a new home, and a Merry Christmas as well!”
