A new, free cookery course for people over 55 will be starting next month, run at The Conygre Hall in Timsbury by local charity Age UK B&NES and Bath College.

The six-week ‘Cook and Eat’ course will provide all the knowledge and skill you’ll need to create delicious and nutritious dishes.

Whether you’re a skilled cook whose nutritional knowledge could do with a brush-up, or you don’t know how to turn the cooker on, the course can help.

The course is being led by a Fatina Cummings, a qualified and experienced Community Learning tutor, and all ingredients and equipment will be provided.

It takes place on Tuesdays from 10am – 1.30pm, on 7th, 14th, 21st and 28th February, and 7th and 14th March.

At the end of each session, those taking part will share the dishes they have made together.

If you are interested in attending you will need to register in advance – call Lynsey Parsons on 01225 328822 orr Vicki Chapman on 01761 433161 ext 330.

Age UK B&NES is also now working with Health & More in Timsbury.

An Age UK B&NES Information and Advice worker will be available on the third Wednesday of the month offering free, impartial and confidential advice and  support on a range of issues including: care; benefits; housing; consumer issues; debt; local services and more.

Future dates include: Wednesdays February 22; March 15; April 12; May 24 and June 14. To ensure you have an appointment, call 01225 466135.

Age UK B&NES is a local charity that supports around 12,000 older people, their families and carers every year, with essential services.
