People interested in the free place offer are being encouraged to claim them as soon as possible.
CHSW has been involved with the Bath Half Marathon, a 13.1 mile course which starts and finishes in the centre of the historic city, since its Charlton Farm hospice in Wraxall opened in 2007.
This year’s Bath Half Marathon takes place on Sunday 17th March and will see thousands of runners take to the streets of the city.
Normally the cost to take part in the marathon is £55.
CHSW Head of Fundraising Tamara Downes said: “The Bath Half Marathon has been a crucial part of the fundraising for our services and over the years has raised nearly a quarter of a million pounds for children, young people and families that have life-limiting conditions or that have been supported by the hospice.
“We were also privileged to be chosen as the local charity for the event in 2019.”
CHSW still has 15 spaces to fill for the Bath Half Marathon.
Those taking advantage of the free place are encouraged to raise a suggested minimum sponsorship of £200 for CHSW.
Bath Half is one of the longest-established and most popular city centre road events in the UK.
It is also the largest charity fundraising event in the region and one of the most successful events for Children’s Hospice South West.
Tamara continued: “Our wonderful team of runners at Bath Half in 2023 helped raise over £17,000 for Children’s Hospice South West, funds which will be used to help care for children and young people with life-limiting conditions.
“We are calling for people to join our 2024 team of runners. We still have 15 spaces to fill and have a time limited offer – of a free place for raising sponsorship for an incredible local charity.
“Sign up for one of our charity places today, and we will be on hand to help you on every step of your fundraising journey.”
Charlton Farm is currently supporting almost 200 children and young people from the local area living with life-limiting or life-threatening illnesses; meaning that it is unlikely they will live into adulthood.
The hospice provides a range of support including day visits and overnight stays for the whole family at the hospice itself, home visits, 24-hour telephone support, emergency stays, symptom management, dedicated support for siblings, end-of-life care and bereavement support.
