Following the £20 uplift of Universal Credit and the furlough scheme coming to an end, Bath-based Wessex Water is offering support to any customers facing money worries.

The water and sewerage company has already supported tens of thousands of customers in financial difficulty before, during and after the Covid-19 pandemic, which continues to impact people across the region.

Wessex Water works out flexible payment plans for people who have short-term problems paying, plus discounted bills for metered customers who receive benefits or tax credits and have three or more children living at home.

The same discount applies to households where someone has a medical condition that requires them to use a lot of water, while some low-income pensioners are also entitled to lower bills.

For anyone in extreme financial difficulty, Wessex Water can put a limit on bills based on an individual’s ability to pay until they get back on track.

For more advice and information on how to apply for help, visit wessexwater.co.uk/helptopay.
