Almost 9,000 extra seats are being provided by Great Western Railway this Sunday, 15th October, to carry runners and supporters for the Bath Half Marathon.
15 additional trains are being operated on top of the usual Sunday timetable, a 50% increase in services between 8.30am and 3.50pm.
Those travelling are, however, being warned that trains will still be busy immediately before and after the event.
If you are travelling by train on race day, don’t get caught out. The first services of the day depart at the following times:
- Swindon to Bath Spa: 9.01am, arriving at 9.26am
- Westbury to Bath: 8.40am, arriving at 9.07am
- Bristol Temple Meads to Bath Spa: 7.45am, arriving at 7.56am
- Cardiff Central to Bath Spa: 8.50am, arriving at 10.29am
Bath Spa Station Manager Oana Apetroaie said: “We’re delighted to welcome Bath Half runners and supporters alike to our world-famous city, helping to take the strain out of travelling on the day.
“While our friendly staff will be on hand to help keep people moving as they return to the station, I urge customers to allow time for their journeys as the city, and our trains, will be extremely busy immediately before and after the race.”
