Dorothy House appeal for pre-loved furniture donations to help raise funds

Dorothy House Hospice Care are appealing to local residents who may be planning a clear out, to donate their pre-loved furniture and electrical items to one of their four specialist furniture charity shops.

The charity, which has shops in Bath, Melksham, Chippenham and Frome, offers free collection for large household items and are especially looking for good quality sofas, chairs, tables, bed frames and desks.

To arrange a  free collection of items, simply call your local specialist furniture store directly.

Donations are then used for resale, with the profits going to support Dorothy House continue offering care to individuals with life-limiting illnesses and their families, when it matters most.

Dorothy House Hospice Care is a leading, independent charity providing palliative and end of life care, free of charge, across 700 sq miles, serving a population of 550,000 people in Bath and North East Somerset (BaNES), Wiltshire, and Somerset Clinical Commissioning Groups.

The majority of care is delivered in the home and the community, including by Dorothy House Nurse Specialist teams working in partnership with GPs, a growing Hospice at Home Service and support through Outreach Centres and 1,200-strong volunteer network.

Dorothy House Hospice Care also provides inpatient care, pre-and post-bereavement support, rehabilitation programmes, complementary, creative therapies and more.
