Bath & North East Somerset Council is looking to encourage more residents to compost their food and garden waste by offering discounted compost converter bins.
The offer is being promoted in partnership with getcomposting.com and coincides with international Compost Awareness Week, 5th – 11th May 2019.
Residents can buy discounted compost converter bins, and can buy a second compost converter bin at half price.
Home composting is an easy and effective way of recycling some of the daily household waste we produce, while providing significant benefits for our gardens, reducing waste sent to landfill and improving our carbon footprint.
Compost converters are easy to use and help to speed up the decomposition of organic matter to produce top quality compost to use in the garden.
It’s also a cheaper alternative to chargeable garden waste collections. However, if you don’t have room for a home compost bin, you can still recycle your food waste in your weekly food waste recycling collection.
For residents who want to make the most of composting, getcomposting.com also has details of food waste digesters and hot composters which allow householders to compost all their uncooked household food waste.
