Bath & North East Somerset Council has adopted a new charter to help shape the future of the Foxhill area of Combe Down, Bath.
The Foxhill Regeneration and Development Charter has been developed through a series of joint workshops with Curo, led by the Homes & Communities Agency and further shaped through consultation with the local community.
It sets out four shared ambitions to shape the future of the neighbourhood that will be delivered through a combination of social, economic and physical regeneration:
- Communities: communities which continue to be proud of themselves and the local neighbourhood;
- Connections: a neighbourhood which is well connected and fully integrated with its surroundings;
- Housing Choice: a destination where people choose to come to live and then want to stay;
- Quality of Place: a vibrant neighbourhood with a mix of uses and a strong local economy
Cllr Liz Richardson (Conservative, Chew Valley North), Cabinet Member for Homes and Planning said: “This charter will help give a focus for Curo, the Council and the local community to work together on a shared vision for the area, and help inform discussions about what Foxhill might look like in the years to come.
“This new charter will help underpin the work which has started with the community in shaping Curo’s regeneration plans, whilst also providing a framework by which residents can hold Curo to account.”
The charter also sets out wider expectations for connecting Foxhill with the new homes on Mulberry Park and the rest of Combe Down, ensuring high quality services and resources for all residents.
It will also assist with the targeting of resources and any funding bids by the Council or Curo.
