South West charity Dorothy House Hospice Care has received a welcome boost with a donation of £6,500 raised by staff working for Bath-based housing association Curo.

Henrietta Beard is the Corporate and Major Donor Fundraiser for Dorothy House which offers end of life care to patients and support for their families and carers.

She said: “Dorothy House is always keen to hear from local businesses like Curo who want to support us. There are so many ways that businesses can get involved and work with us. Our corporate partners make a crucial difference to the care we can provide.”

Curo colleagues chose Dorothy House as their charity of the year for 2016 and spent the year raising money through a range of activities including Bike Bath, cake sales, a Christmas jumper day, quizzes, and a corporate golf challenge.

The fundraising efforts were aided by generous donations and raffle prizes from numerous Curo suppliers and other local businesses.

Any businesses interested in helping to raise funds for Dorothy House can contact Henrietta on 01225 721 480 or by emailing [email protected].
