Alexandra Park in Bath will be closed to vehicles for this year’s fireworks display at the Rec, taking place on Saturday 7th November, in response to local residents’ concerns.
Over the years increasing numbers of cars have driven into the park to enjoy a free view of the display, causing a lot of congestion in the surrounding residential area.
In addition, the park cannot deal with the numbers and when space runs out people have been parking on the grass, causing damage.
Although Bath & North East Somerset Council will be preventing people from driving into the park during the display, local people are being encouraged to come along and use it as a viewing point.
Signage is being put up in the area to advise of the closure during 7th November.
