The Liberal Democrats have launched a campaign to get local people’s views on what should happen across the Bath area after the election next year.

Their campaign has been launched to get local views
The Let’s Make B&NES Even Better campaign is the biggest consultation on a local manifesto that has ever been held in Bath and North East Somerset.
Over the coming months, the Lib Dems will be meeting with residents at roadshow events, and engaging with stakeholder groups and businesses to hear what they would like to see the Council doing after next year’s election.
Chair of the Lib Dem Manifesto Working Group, Cllr Ben Stevens, said: “Obviously, the Liberal Democrats have their own ideas for the Council after 2015, but we have been committed to running a listening Council since we took control in 2010. This is just an extension of that.
“I’m sure we all have at least one idea of what could make our area better, and this is an opportunity to make sure it’s on our radar. We’ve been committed to engaging our residents and working alongside our communities to try and deliver for them.”
On their manifesto website, the local Liberal Democrats have set out a broad vision for B&NES, across 5 areas: economy, transport, fairness, wellbeing and environment.
Any ideas from residents that are submitted by 10th December that fit with their vision will be considered for inclusion in the Lib Dem Manifesto for next year’s Council elections.
Steve Bradley, Lib Dem candidate to be MP for Bath, commented: “We already live in an incredible city. The Conservatives and their candidate have spent the last few months doing Bath down, without offering any positive alternatives.
“This is a chance for the people of Bath and North East Somerset to do one better and offer a solution that would improve things for them.”
Wera Hobhouse, Lib Dem candidate to be MP for North East Somerset, commented: “I’m delighted to see the Liberal Democrats taking this open and inclusive approach.
“Residents in North East Somerset are tired of the Tories telling them what’s best for them. We’re the only party that genuinely listens to residents.”
