The popular Lido Chef takeaway in Rush Hill is set to reopen today, Wednesday 2nd August, following a devastating fire earlier this year which left the business closed for a number of months.
Lido Chef put up a sign in its window earlier this week, confirming their reopening today.
The takeaway has been closed since May, following the substantial fire which started in a fryer. The blaze spread through to extraction ducting and then into the roof of a single storey extension.
Fire crews from the Bath and Hicks Gate fire stations were sent to the scene on 23rd May after the fire broke out in the ground floor business.
Four firefighters in breathing apparatus entered the shop and used high pressure hose reels to bring the fire under control.
One man in his 40s, who was in the kitchen at the time of the fire, was treated by firefighters for minor burns to his face. He was later taken to hospital as a precaution.
