Green-fingered Curo residents from across the area have been presented with certificates of ‘Blooming Brilliance’ in recognition of their winning gardens in this year’s Curo in Bloom competition.
The winners – from Bath, Bristol, Portishead, and the Somer and the Chew Valleys – included Bishop Sutton resident Ivor Elms whose garden featured a 100-year-old rose originally planted by his grandmother then tended by his mother before he re-planted it in his own Curo garden.
Presenting the certificates, competition organiser and Curo Customer Engagement Co-ordinator Chris Auckland said: “Every one of the gardens we saw in this year’s competition was absolutely stunning, and we were thrilled to receive entries from right across the region where we work.
“Curo in Bloom is a fantastic way for residents to showcase their gardens, from the biggest community spaces to the smallest front gardens, balconies and even window boxes. Congratulations to everyone who took part and has helped to make their street shine this summer.”

Curo in Bloom is organised by Curo’s Estates Management Team which maintains all the shared outside spaces across Curo’s 13,000 properties, including over 650,000 square metres of grass, 72,000 square metres of shrub beds, 20km metres of hedging and 7,800 trees.
