David Hobdey, Chief Executive of St John’s Foundation, has taken on the role of Chair for the Bath Business Improvement District, the independent company working to help businesses in the city.

David said he is delighted to be taking on the role: “The Bath BID is a not for profit company managing a significant budget to support our city-centre businesses.
“We work closely with a wide cross-section of businesses and interests. We have made excellent progress over the last three years under Maeve’s expert chairmanship and I am pleased to be in the role at such an exciting time.”
Maeve England is stepping down as Chair after three years in the role, having overseen a period of rapid growth and change.
Maeve, a partner at Mogers Drewett Solicitors and Head of their Litigation and Dispute Resolution Department, remains on the board of the BID.
She commented: “Mogers Drewett are excited to have recently relocated to modern offices in the new and developing business quarter of the city.
“Sadly for me, as we are now just outside the current Bath BID area, this has meant that I am stepping down as Chair of the BID.
“I have loved my time as Chair and it has been an enormous privilege to have this role in our beautiful, vibrant city and to work with so many unique and interesting businesses.
“I am proud of the work accomplished by the BID team on behalf of the businesses of Bath. There has been a host of new initiatives, as well as a continuation of the core services delivering a cleaner, safer and more welcoming environment.”

The Bath Business Improvement District (BID) is an independent, not-for-profit business-led company working to enable businesses in Bath to succeed.
There are 18 Board Directors guiding the BID, who come from a cross-section of businesses across the city, including retail, hospitality, office, local authority and the leisure sector.
