Bath-based broadband provider Truespeed has announced an £8 million investment in its continued rollout across five areas in the local area.
As well as adding the brand new areas of Peasedown St John and Midsomer Norton to its remit, Truespeed is expanding its existing network in Radstock, Keynsham and Saltford.
The multi-million-pound investment is expected to reach in excess of 9,500 properties.
With its dedicated full-fibre technology, homes and businesses can benefit from speeds of up to 900Mbps.
Building and planning works are already underway and Truespeed’s engineers can be spotted delivering the ultrafast infrastructure across all five areas.
People in Peasedown St John, Saltford and Keynsham can expect to be connected in mid-summer, followed closely by Radstock and Midsomer Norton going live by late summer.
James Lowther, CEO of Truespeed said: “We’re pleased to be expanding our existing network in Radstock, Keynsham and Saltford so more people can benefit from Truespeed’s ultra-reliable, full fibre connectivity.
“Expanding into new areas including Peasedown St John and Midsomer Norton will provide homes and businesses with greater access to ultrafast broadband that is essential in everyday life.
“Truespeed is working hard to provide an exceptional broadband experience for all our customers and improve connectivity throughout the region.”
Richard Burgess, Station Manager for Somer Valley FM added: “As the local community radio station for the Somer Valley, it’s fantastic that a local organisation like Truespeed, a community-focused provider, will be investing in our region.
“There are exciting regeneration and development plans for the local area that could benefit from Truespeed, and with 14 hours of new and fresh shows daily alongside record online listening numbers, it’s vital for us too.
“Several of our shows and content are provided remotely and our existing broadband network struggles to cope, so Truespeed bringing much-needed connectivity to our homes and businesses here in the Somer Valley is crucial.”
