The Hare & Hounds raised £690 for the Abbots Alphege Academy, by donating 50p from the sale of every children’s meal sold.
Earlier this week, Joe Cussens, Managing Director of The Bath Pub Company, presented a cheque to headteacher Vicky Dupras and some of the pupils.
During his visit, Mr Cussens learnt the funds were going to be used to provide the children with easy access to their forest school, so it can be used more often and provide the pupils with an outdoor learning space.
Ms Dupras said: “We are truly grateful for this donation. We have decided to use this funding to further support the development of our Forest School Provision here at Abbot Alphege Academy.
“Learning outside in the natural environment is so important for our children, and this additional money will really help us with this.
“Thank you so much to the Hare and Hounds – as a small school with a small budget, this donation makes a massive difference to us.
Joe Cussens added: “It’s fantastic for us to be able to do support our local primary school.
“We’d like to thank all the customers that helped us raise the money for the donation.
“We believe that a good pub should be more about serving great food and drink – it should also be about supporting the local community, just as our customers support us.”
