Today sees one of the BBC’s most watched television series, Sherlock, being filmed in the centre of Bath for an upcoming episode set to be broadcast at the end of the year.
Filming is taking place on Queen Street today (Monday 2nd February) with the location being transformed into a Victorian setting.
Over the past few weeks, filming has taken place across Bristol and Gloucestershire.
Benedict Cumberbatch and Martin Freeman are to return to Sherlock as Sherlock Holmes and John Watson for a fourth series of the show, based on the books by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle.
The current filming is for the show’s Christmas special, which will be aired in December before more episodes in 2016.
During an interview with the Radio Times last November, co-writer Mark Gatiss said that viewers should: “Expect tragedy as well as adventure, that’s just how it goes.
“Just because it’s in the stories, doesn’t mean it’ll happen in the series.
“There’s an awful lots of changes and an awful lot of places to go and things to do.”
