A female teacher who lives in Bath has been jailed for 15 months after admitting to having sex with a 15-year-old girl at the private school where she worked.

Emily Fox, 26, a PE teacher at the all-girls £15,000 a year Royal Masonic School in Rickmansworth, Hertfordshire, pleaded guilty to four charges of sexual activity with a child while in a position of trust.

The Crown Court in St Albans heard last month how the offences took place between August 2012 and August 2013.

Fox has also been added to the sex offenders register for 10 years.

The court heard how Fox sent “sexually explicit” messages with the girl after meeting her in November 2012.

Months afterwards they developed an “intense” bond that involved kissing and then became sexual.

The relationship was discovered in August last year when a revealing email was mistakenly printed out and discovered by the parents of the girl, who cannot be named for legal reasons.
