The Bath Guitar School is welcoming people to join them for Christmas carols during the Bath Christmas Market to raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support.

For the fifth year students aged eight to adult will be joined by friends and family for the Bath-based music school’s Charity Christmas Busk in the Abbey Green Archway and Churchyard.

The group will be performing five Christmas songs including traditional carols such as Jingle Bells and We Wish You A Merry Christmas, and the chart topping hit ‘Merry Christmas Everybody’ by Slade.

The Christmas Charity Busk has become part of the special ambiance of the Christmas Market and visitors can enjoy the performances from 6pm in the evenings of Saturday 7th December.

Bath Guitar School Owner, Richard Perkins said: “I am delighted to be supporting Macmillan Cancer Support once again; this is our fifth consecutive Christmas charity busk. We enjoyed great success last year and have raised over £1,500 for the charity in the past two years.

“I am looking forward to working with the stars of the busk: the students who have been practising really hard to bring some festive cheer to Bath, and raise money for people living with cancer. I openly invite anyone who fancies joining us for a sing song in the Bath Christmas Market to come along and have a great time!”

Kaeti Morrison, local fundraising manager for Macmillan Cancer Support said: “Raising funds is vital to support services for local people affected by cancer.

“With the help of the Bath Guitar School we’re making sure that no-one faces cancer alone.

“At Macmillan, we understand how vital it is to have someone by your side when you’re affected by cancer. A team who can provide personal support and expert information. That’s what we do but we can only do it with the support of our local communities.”

If you would like to take part in this year’s charity Christmas busk either as a musician or collections volunteer please contact Richard Perkins on 07977 580129, or email [email protected] for more information.
