Staff from the ladies-only Sanctuary Spa in Bristol will be swapping their tranquil surroundings for the streets of Bristol when they join hundreds of women all taking part in the Midnight Memory Walk for Children’s Hospice South West. The ladies have pledged to walk seven miles through the night to raise vital funds for the charity.
The three women who all work at the Sanctuary Spa in Cabot Circus will be stepping out together on Friday 16th September with walkers who are taking part for a variety of reasons.
Walkers will be able to treat themselves to some pampering after the walk, as Sanctuary Spa has also donated a 20 per cent off voucher that will be in each walker’s goody bags at the end of the walk. The vouchers can be redeemed at the Sanctuary Spa in Cabot Circus.
The Bristol Midnight Memory Walk is now in its third year and Children’s Hospice South West is hoping that this year the event will be bigger and better with more ladies signing up.
The Midnight Walk can be a perfect opportunity for a different kind of Ladies night out, here Karin McGowan from the Sanctuary Spa tells us why her colleagues will be taking part:
“The walk is an excellent example of what girl power can achieve. Pounding the streets of Bristol in the middle of night will be a real bonding experience and a way for these women to celebrate memories of their loved ones whilst being an excellent way to raise funds for such an incredible local cause.”
The walk will follow a seven-mile route through the historic city of Bristol starting at Ashton Gate Stadium and passing some memorable sights including the Clifton Suspension Bridge, SS Great Britain and Millennium Square.
“Whether you want to walk to remember a loved one, get fit, have a great night out with friends or colleagues, meet new friends amongst the many women who’ll be joining you, or just support the vital work of Children’s Hospice South West, we need you to sign up now!” Says Sophie Crossman, Events Fundraiser for the charity.
Registration is open to all females over the age of 16 and you will receive a fundraising pack detailing useful information and fundraising tips, an official Midnight Memory Walk t-shirt, plus a goody bag and mug when you cross the finish line.

Each hospice is a friendly ‘home from home’ where the whole family can make the most of the precious time they have together: as a result all the rooms are filled with joy and the sounds of laughter.
When the time comes, the hospices provide a comforting and familiar place to say goodbye. With the support of specially trained staff, families are cared for every step of the way; throughout the life of the child, through bereavement and beyond as long as it’s needed.
