The tales of a local author, whose cross-country travels by bus inspired an eco-friendly internet campaign, can be heard at an event held at Midsomer Norton Library.
Pat Lunt, of Odd Down, Bath, took a month-long trip around England on public service buses as a way of doing something unusual and enjoyable.
On Tuesday 22nd May, from 7pm to 8pm, he will talk about the book he published “Life in the Bus Lane” and the fascinating direction his life then took.
What started out as just a slightly whacky idea for a holiday has developed in scope for Pat. He now also has his own web site (www.lifeinthebuslane.org.uk) and a continuing project that encourages people to hop on a bus for a day out (or longer), leaving their cars at home.
Councillor David Dixon (Lib-Dem, Oldfield), Cabinet Member for Neighbourhoods, said: “It’s great to welcome Pat Lunt to Midsomer Norton Library to share his experiences and show how books can open up a world of opportunities.
“This is one of a number of events Bath & North East Somerset Council is holding out of hours as we want people to get even more benefit from our libraries outside of their normal opening times and find out what they have to offer.”
The event is free but spaces are limited so anyone interested in attending is advised to book a place by picking up a ticket from Midsomer Norton Library on the High Street, next to the Holly Court Arcade, or by calling 01225 394041.
