The Council has launched a mass consultation on more than 40 proposed new locations for double-yellow line parking restrictions across the area.

Five of the areas are located in Peasedown St John, and have been organised following requests from residents and the village’s Liberal Democrat councillors.

Cllr Nathan Hartley (Liberal Democrat, Peasedown St John) commented: “Over the last 18 months many people have approached Cllr Sarah Bevan and me asking for more restrictions to be introduced to prevent inconsiderate parking in their street.

“After a long wait, this Thursday sees the start of a 21 day consultation asking people what they think about the proposals.”

For Peasedown St John, these areas could see double-yellow lines introduced at:

  • Blenheim Close
  • Bath Road – around the Greenlands Road junction
  • Bath Road – around the Belle Vue Close/Huddox Hill junction
  • Wellow Tyning
  • Wellow Lane

Notices have been posted around the community this week giving more details. Cllr Sarah Bevan (Liberal Democrat, Peasedown St John) added;

“We’d like as many people as possible to respond to the consultation to express their views. What happens outside our front doors is, for most people, what matters the most.

“We have published details of the proposals on our website, so residents can look at the plans online, although the final decision will be made by the Cabinet Member for Transport and the Parking Services department.”
