Residents of Bath don’t have reception on their radios and those who receive their television via the Bath transmitter at Bathampton don’t have freeview television after a power failure this morning.
Signal was lost across the area at 8.33am this morning when both digital television and analogue radio services went off air.
The transmitter, which is a light relay of the more powerful Mendip transmitter in Somerset, is being reported by BBC Reception as off-air for BBC Radio 1, 2, 3 and Radio 4. Heart Bath on 103FM is currently unaffected as it is broadcast from the transmitter up at Bath Racecourse.
The power failure at the location is currently trying to be resolved.
Most of Bath currently receives television signals from the Mendip transmitter directly rather than through Bath, although no-one will be receiving radio until the issue is resolved.
