A Bath man who ran a cannabis factory from a bedroom in his flat has been ordered to pay a confiscation order of £41,000.
Kevin Hunt, 60, must pay up the substantial amount within six months or face 12 months imprisonment instead.
The order was made at a confiscation hearing at Bristol Crown Court on 9th April following Hunt’s conviction last September for producing and supplying cannabis.
Avon and Somerset Police arrested Hunt when they executed a Misuse of Drugs warrant at a flat in Anglo Terrace in January 2012.
They found that one bedroom had been turned into a growing room complete with tents, lights, propagators and a total of 55 cannabis plants.
Dr Kirstie Cogram, Avon and Somerset Police’s Financial Investigation Unit Manager, said: “’This result demonstrates that we continue to work to remove the proceeds of crime from drug dealers and other criminals.”
