Avon and Somerset Police in Bath are appealing for witnesses to an incident in which a woman claims her leg was trapped in the door of a moving bus.

They particularly want to talk to a man who helped the woman, but who left the scene without leaving his name or details.

The incident is reported to have happened at around 4.25pm on Monday 5th December shortly after the woman boarded the Park and Ride bus in Southgate.

She says she fell backwards and out of the doors as the bus moved off.

She is white with dark brown hair and was wearing an ankle-length red padded coat.

The man who helped her is white, of medium build, aged between 40-50 with short dark brown hair. He was wearing a white shirt and a black padded jacket and black slip-on shoes.

Police are asking the man and anyone who saw what happened to contact them on the non-emergency number 101.
