Avon and Somerset Police are appealing for information to identify three people seen at Bath cricket club shortly before fire broke out in the old pavilion.
The building was destroyed in the blaze that started between 8pm on Sunday May 6th and 1.56am on Monday May 7th. Police are treating the cause as suspicious.
A witness who was walking along Ferry Lane towards Spring Crescent at around 1.30am has told police he heard voices coming from the cricket ground. He saw three people walking towards the pavilion from the general direction of the car park, opposite Bath Magistrates’ Court.
All were aged between 17 and 20 years old. Two were male, about 5ft 8ins to 5ft 10ins tall and of medium build. Both had short dark hair and wore dark clothing.
The other person was female, about 5ft 6ins tall and of slim build. She had noticeably blonde hair, straight and shoulder-length.
The witness described all three as appearing to be drunk.
Anyone with information about the three people, or who saw anything suspicious at around the time of the fire, is asked to contact Bath CID on 101 or call the charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
