Bath MP Ben Howlett has welcomed the arrival of a new minibus for St Philip and St James Church, after the Department of Transport established a Transport Minibus Fund to finance minibuses for community groups.
The £25 million, Transport Minibus Fund has to date provided over 300 local charities and community groups across England with new minibuses.
The minibuses particularly help elderly residents, people with learning and physical disabilities and those who do not have access to a commercial bus service.
Ben said: “I am delighted that St Philip and St James Church have been successful in securing this new minibus. The Department of Transport’s Minibus Fund is a great initiative, and I am pleased that one of the new minibuses has come to Bath.
“I very much hope this will encourage other charity and community groups to apply for the fund.”
