The Bath Echo is launching a special Christmas short story competition, ahead of our bumper festive newspaper issue out in December.
We’re inviting people across Bath and the surrounding area to submit a maximum 500-word story to us, based on the theme ‘Christmas in Bath’. This doesn’t have to be the story title.
The winner of the competition will receive a £50 prize, as well as having their winning entry published here on our website and in our fortnightly newspaper.
The competition is open to writers aged 14+.
Submitted short stories should be fictional, and completely original.
Please do not send in stories that have previously been published elsewhere.
Your stories will be judged by the Bath Echo team in the run-up to Christmas, with the winner being announced in our bumper Christmas print issue, out on 10th December.
How to enter
To enter this competition, simply send your 500-word Christmas-themed short story to us by 5pm on Monday 2nd December.
You can submit your entry by post to ‘Short Story Competition, Bath Echo, PO Box 5395, Bath, BA1 0YA’ or email it to us using the subject line ‘Short Story Competition’ to shortstory@ bathecho.co.uk.
Please include your full name, a phone number, home address and email address (only your name will be published if your entry wins).
All entries received up to 5pm on Monday 2nd December will be considered and the 1st, 2nd and 3rd place winners will have their story published in our Christmas issue, which will be published on 10th December.
