As part of essential work to repair Durley Lane bridge, the A4 Keynsham bypass will be closed from midnight to 6am on 18th-19th April whilst a new contraflow is put in.
There will be a diversion in place taking traffic through Keynsham.
Variable Message Signs (VMS) at either end of the bypass (Hicks Gate and Broadmead roundabouts) will provide information about the works.
The contraflow will allow full access to one side of the dual carriageway for re-waterproofing works to commence.
There will be a 24 hours a day recovery on site for the duration of the contraflows.
The contraflows are expected to be in operation for six weeks (three weeks per side) to complete the bridge deck waterproofing.
All works will be carried out on the A4 and access will be maintained for Durley Lane which passes underneath the bypass.
The work to re-waterproof the bridge deck began on 16th March.
A further night closure will be required to switch the traffic over to the other side in 3 weeks (9th-10th May) and then to remove the contraflow at the end of the works by the end of May.
