The A46 near Bath has been closed this morning after a lorry skidded on black ice on the road and crashed, blocking both directions and causing a diesel spillage across the carriageway.
The incident happened at around 6.40am this morning, between Blacksmith Lane (Upper Swainswick) and Leigh Lane (Nimlet).
Highways England closed the A46 in both directions between the A4 Batheaston Roundabout (Swainswick) and the A420 Cold Ashton Roundabout (Pennsylvania), due to the large diesel spill.
Avon and Somerset Police have said the lorry has lost approximately 200 litres of diesel.
Road users are advised to expect delays and to consider alternative routes.
Diversions are being put in place whilst Highways England clear the scene.
It is believed the lorry driver sustained minor injuries in the collision.
