A Bath based hypnotherapist, Daniel Kronenberg, is urging the public to use hypnotherapy to help them give up smoking during the NHS’s Stoptober campaign.
Many people use hypnotherapy to provide extra help when giving up smoking.
The Complementary and Natural Healthcare Council (CNHC) is the UK regulator for complementary therapists that was set up with government funding and support.
Daniel said: “Hypnotherapy is often used to help clients achieve the behavioural change needed to stop smoking but it’s so important the public use someone who knows what they are doing.”
“We know that quitting isn’t easy but we want to reassure smokers that support is available to them and that they can win the battle against cigarettes.
“There’s a much higher chance of succeeding with support and this is why I am spreading the word to smokers about the service I offer and other resources which are locally available to them.
“Our activity is crucial to helping smokers on the road to victory and towards a healthier and wealthier smoke-free life.”
“The smoking habit is often held in place by unconscious associations and patterns which are sometimes difficult to break by conscious debate or knowledge.
“Hypnotherapy can help by bypassing conscious control and tackling the root emotional and psychological ties which bind smokers to their behaviour.
“In support of this national effort, I am offering a £20 reduction in fees for the month of October. Additional information can be found on www.dkhypnotherapy.co.uk.”
Daniel added: “Hypnotherapy is one of 15 therapies registered by the CNHC. There are over 5,200 practitioners on the register and members of the public can search the CNHC register to find practitioners in their local area.
“More than 265,000 searches have been carried out since the register first opened in 2009.”
