Full-back Tom de Glanville has pledged his future to Bath Rugby until 2028 – and spoke of his privilege at turning out for the club.

On Monday 16th February, the Blue, Black & White announced that the homegrown star – son of England and Bath centre Phil de Glanville – had renewed his contract at The Rec.

A statement from the club said: “In exciting renewal news, Bath Rugby can confirm Tom de Glanville has extended his time in Blue, Black & White until 2028.

“A product of the Bath Rugby Academy, de Glanville has transitioned into a senior and integral member of the squad over the past seven years, earning 107 caps along the way.

“The full-back has committed his long-term future to The Rec faithful, seeing him remain in Blue, Black & White for a further two seasons.

“De Glanville’s time at Bath has seen some special moments, including 2025’s treble-winning season, earning his professional rugby debut, and playing on the same turf he’d watched Bath play on throughout his childhood.”

The 26-year-old number 15 said: “This club and the special people within it have become family to me.

“It’s a privilege to be able to represent the Blue, Black & White at The Rec and I’ll never take it for granted.

“I’m so grateful to all the fans for the support through the tough times and the good, and that’s what makes this club so special. I can’t wait for what is to come on this journey.”

Johann van Graan, Bath’s head of rugby, said: “Tom is an incredible team man and a very important player in our group.

“Tom is certainly one of the unsung heroes of our team and the DNA of our squad.

“Tom and his family have a history with the club and we are very grateful that the Blue, Black & White will continue to flow through his veins.”

Bath wing Henry Arundell went from hero to zero in the space of a week as England were humbled 31-20 by Scotland in Edinburgh on Saturday 14th February in Guinness Six Nations Round 2.

Arundell had earned the praise of England head coach Steve Borthwick after scoring a hat-trick of tries in the Round 1 success against Wales the previous weekend.

And the former Racing 92 man added another try to his tally when he scored in the 21st minute at Scottish Gas Murrayfield – but by that time he had already spent 10 minutes in the sin bin for ill discipline at the breakdown.

Much worse was to follow for Arundell as, with half-time approaching, he was shown a second yellow card, this for a dangerous aerial challenge.

That meant a red card for Arundell – and England were down to 14 men for 20 minutes, with the 23-year-old not permitted to return after that.

Once the 20 minutes elapsed, the visitors brought on Fin Smith.

Arundell is due to face a disciplinary hearing tomorrow, Tuesday 17th February.

Bath back rows Guy Pepper and Sam Underhill were also in the England starting XV against Scotland, and Blue, Black & White skipper and scrum-half Ben Spencer joined the action as a 69th-minute replacement.

For Scotland, Bath fly-half Finn Russell kicked a penalty and converted all four of their tries.

England’s defeat was their first for a year.

Bath prop Archie Griffin was a 49th-minute replacement for Wales in their 54-12 Six Nations loss to France at the Principality Stadium, Cardiff, on Sunday 15th February.

And the Blue, Black & White’s Connor Treacey scored a close-range try as he again skippered England U20s, this time leading them to a 33-17 success against Scotland at the Hive Stadium, Edinburgh, in the U20 Six Nations on Friday 13th February.

Also in the England starting XV was Bath’s Sam Winters – and his clubmate and fellow wing Tyler Offiah was among the replacements.

England have a perfect record from two U20 Six Nations fixtures under number 8 Treacey’s captaincy.

And they will be looking to extend that run when they face Ireland at The Rec in Round 3 on Friday 20th February.

Tickets for the England versus Ireland match, which will kick-off at 7.45pm, can be bought here.
