Odd Down must dread seeing what the weather is doing as they try to gear up for matches each week.

On Saturday 7th February, the club from the Lew Hill Memorial Ground experienced yet another weather-related postponement – and that means they have played only one game this year.

The Down were due to entertain South Gloucestershire outfit Cadbury Heath in Jewson Western League Division One on 7th February, but the fixture was called off that morning because of a waterlogged pitch.

The game against the Heathens has been rearranged for Tuesday 24th March (7.45pm).

Since winning the Bath & North East Somerset derby with Keynsham Town 3-0 on Boxing Day, Odd Down have been in action on only Saturday 10th January, when they dismantled bottom club Welton Rovers 4-1 at the Lew Hill Memorial Ground.

Weather permitting, on Saturday 14th February the Down will be looking to stretch their winning run in the league to three matches. They are scheduled to visit promotion-chasing Bitton in another derby (3pm).

The men from The BK Scaffolding Stadium are in the play-off zone, with 14 successes from 26 outings.

Odd Down, who hold 14th place in the 20-team Division One, have played 24 league fixtures this season, winning seven.

However, such has been the devastation caused by the weather to the section – which comprises clubs from Somerset, Bristol, South Gloucestershire, Wiltshire and Dorset – that only eight sides have played more matches than the Down.

Odd Down Development were also rained off on 7th February – but at least they are in a slightly better situation than the 1st XI, having played twice in 2026.

The Devs had been due to visit High Littleton in the Trophies of Radstock Mid Somerset League’s Dimmock Green Cup but, as happened to the club’s seniors, they fell victim to a waterlogged pitch, the tie being postponed on Friday 6th February.

The Dimmock Green Cup first-round clash has been rearranged for Saturday 28th February at High Littleton Recreational Ground.

Clutton Reserves are set to visit the Lew Hill Memorial Ground on Saturday 14th February in the Paulton Hospital Cup quarter-finals (2pm).

Odd Down Development lead the way with an unbeaten record in Mid Somerset League Division One.

Clutton are in penultimate spot in the Premier Division, where they have secured just one victory from eight starts.
