Bath City have acted quickly to fill their managerial hot seat following the sacking of Darren Way.

Former Yeovil Town boss Way was axed on Sunday 22nd March after a dismal run of results, and academy manager James Moon took temporary charge for the home game against Hemel Hempstead Town two days later.

But on Thursday 26th March, the Romans named Scott Bartlett their new gaffer – and he says he is delighted to be given the job.

His first match in charge will be the Enterprise National League South basement battle away to Eastbourne Borough on Saturday 28th March.

Bartlett is well known locally, having been a utility player for Bath during the 2009-10 campaign and managed Weston-super-Mare to the Pitching In Southern League Premier South title in 2023.

He had two spells leading Weston, the Seagulls winning the Somerset Premier Cup twice during his second reign.

Bartlett was also caretaker boss and academy manager at Forest Green Rovers.

He left the role of Weston gaffer for the second time when – in September 2025, with them second in National League South – he took over as boss at Eastleigh.

Bartlett, 46, was fired by the Hampshire club after their National League defeat by Morecambe in February.

Of his appointment at the Cannon Clarke Stadium @ Twerton Park, Bartlett said: “We’re in a difficult spot, there’s no denying it, but I’m not fazed by that – it’s about the potential, the people and the ongoing project.

“Having played for Bath City as part of a brilliant team I’ve seen first hand how the community comes together to support the club and what that means to the players.

“I’m delighted to commit my future to Bath City FC and am excited about the future.”

A statement from the Romans said: “We’re delighted to announce the appointment of Scott Bartlett as the new first-team manager of Bath City Football Club.

“Scott joins with a wealth of management experience at both Weston-super-Mare and Eastleigh and we’re thrilled to welcome him to Cannon Clarke Stadium @ Twerton Park.”

City announced on Wednesday 25th March that Lee Kendall, Way’s assistant, had left the club.
