A motorcyclist has died after a serious collision this morning involving a motorcycle and a tractor which was towing a trailer on the A4 near to Keynsham, police have said.
The motorcyclist sustained serious life threatening injuries and was treated at the scene but died shortly afterwards.
The A4 has been closed in both directions to allow collision investigators to examine the scene.
The road is expected to remain closed for a number of hours.
Police are keen to hear from anyone who was in the area at the time who may have information to help their enquiries.
Officers would particularly like to speak to the driver of a skip lorry which was in the area at the time who they believe could have useful information to help them.
They think the skip lorry was orange in colour and travelling towards Bath.
If you are able to help call Avon and Somerset Police’s collision investigators on the force number 101.
The Great Western Air Ambulance’s Critical Care Team also attended the scene.
The A4 has now been closed in both directions following the serious RTC this morning at 9am. Delays are expected.
